Allprovide is a small brand manufactured in Georgia. They appear to manufacture their own foods in their own facility. They claim their meats are all USDA inspected and their fruits and vegetables come from US suppliers, with the exception of their turmeric, oregano and hemp seed oil. Allprovide currently offers raw foods, cooked foods, bones and bone broth.

For our Allprovide dog food reviews we’ll look at each food line individually, based on the food ingredient quality and safety. There are 2 lines of 11 dog foods. Each dog food review was based on these criteria.

Allprovide Raw Dog Food Review

Allprovide Raw Dog Food Review

Score: 9.4/10

Package Ingredients For Allprovide Raw Chicken Recipe: Chicken with Bone, Chicken Heart, Chicken Liver, Carrot, Broccoli, Butternut Squash, Kale, Milled Flaxseed, Flaxseed Oil, Wheatgrass, Sea Salt, Cod Liver Oil, Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil, Turmeric Powder, Oregano Leaf, Dried Sea Kelp

Using our evaluation criteria, Allprovide Raw is considered a low risk dog food. Here are our concerns:

Ingredient Quality

In general the ingredient quality of AllProvide Raw dog foods is acceptable, tut there’s one concern …

High In Fat: One AllProvide Raw recipe loses a point for having higher fat than protein, and others have higher fat than we’d like to see. Since animal proteins are the most expensive ingredient in most foods, raw foods might use fattier meats to keep costs down. A high fat diet can cause unwanted shifts in gut bacteria populations and can add unwanted toxins since toxins are stored in fat. Most fats, especially pork and poultry fats, are also high in omega-6 fatty acids, which can cause systemic, low-grade inflammation.

Ingredient Safety

Many pet food ingredients are unsafe or are grown using unsafe chemicals … and that’s why AllProvide loses ingredient safety points. .

High Pesticide/Herbicide Foods In The Top 5 Ingredients: The recipes in the Allprovide Raw line contain foods known to carry a large pesticide/herbicide residue, sometimes in the top 5 ingredients, including apples, spinach and kale. Crops that are spray-dried with Roundup contain more glyphosate/herbicide residue than other crops, even genetically modified ones.  Glyphosate is an antibiotic that can kill beneficial gut bacteria and has been linked to cancer and other diseases.

Benefits

Here are some benefits of these foods:

Minimally Processed: Raw foods are minimally processed which preserves the nutrients in the raw ingredients.

High Protein: Allprovide Raw is a good level of protein at 47% on a dry matter basis.

Low Carbohydrates: This food averages a low level of 6.5% carbohydrate (as calculated on a dry matter basis) which is what you expect in a raw food. Carbs in the food come from the produce, not starchy ingredients

Allprovide Gently Cooked Dog Food Review

Score: 8.8/10

Package Ingredients For Allprovide Gently Cooked Turkey Recipe: Turkey with Bone, Pork Heart, Pork Liver, Carrots, Broccoli, Butternut Squash, Spinach, Cranberry, Milled Flaxseed, Coconut Oil, Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil, Wheatgrass, Cod Liver Oil, Himalayan Sea Salt, Turmeric, Oregano Leaf, Dried Sea Kelp, Mixed tocopherols (natural Vitamin E)

Using our evaluation criteria, Allprovide gently cooked is considered a low risk dog food. Here are our concerns:

Ingredient Quality

Overall, there are several concerns when it comes to ingredient quality:

High In Fat: One recipe loses a point for having higher fat than protein and other recipes have higher fat than preferred.

Many pet food ingredients are unsafe or are grown using unsafe chemicals. Here are some of the issues with the Allprovide Gently Cooked line:

Moderately Processed: The Gently Cooked line loses a point for processing because the food is cooked. Heating foods will cause losses in some active enzymes, vitamins, amino acids and phytonutrients.

High Pesticide/Herbicide Foods In The Top 5 Ingredients: The recipes in Allprovide Gently Cooked line contain foods, sometimes in the top 5 ingredients, that are known to carry a large pesticide/herbicide residue, including apples, spinach and kale.

High Protein: The protein content for Allprovide Gently Cooked is a good level, at 47%.

Low Carbohydrates: This food averages 6.5% carbohydrate (as calculated on a dry matter basis) which is good.  Foods that are rich in carbohydrate can increase insulin levels, increase the risk of obesity and cause unwanted changes to the gut microbiome.

Is Allprovide a Good Dog Food?

When evaluating ingredient quality and safety, our scoring shows these 2 lines of 11 dog foods to be low risk foods. The cooked line is slightly higher risk due to the heat applied during cooking/processing the food. Some recipes in each line also have slightly higher carbs or fat than in other quality dog foods.

Allprovide claims to use non-GMO ingredients. However there are well known “dirty dozen” foods high in pesticides, including apples, spinach, and kale. Ideally, these ingredients would be organic. Overall, though, the Allprovide foods feature quality ingredients with a good balance of carbs, fat, and protein.

Allprovide Dog Food Recalls

To date there have been no recalls of Allprovide dog foods.

Evaluation Criteria

We evaluate and score dog foods based on two criteria:

Are the Ingredients High Quality?

Here are some common low quality ingredients or markers we look for:

  • Is there excessive carbohydrate content, which can cause gut imbalances?
  • Does the food contain unnamed proteins, which are low quality?
  • Does the food use cellulose (wood pulp) as a source of fiber instead of real food?
  • Are there excessive vitamins and minerals added in place of real food nutrition?
  • Are there excessive added amino acids or plant proteins instead of expensive meat protein?
  • Does the food contain inflammatory processed seed oils?

How Safe Are the Ingredients?

Many ingredients come from unhealthy, inflammatory sources or are full of pesticides so we look for:

  • How processed is the food?
  • Does the food contain known genetically modified foods?
  • Does the food contain ingredients known to be high in pesticides?
  • Does the food contain natural flavor, which are often MSG or animal digest?
  • Does the food contain rice, which is high in arsenic?

Each food is objectively evaluated by these criteria and a score is assigned using the average of ingredient quality and safety. This is NOT a paid list and there are no affiliate links. We’ve partnered with DogFoodReviews.com to make sure dog owners have unbiased, objective criteria to help them choose the best dog food on the market.
